ark your calendars! The 2017 Walk for the
Animals presented by VCA Animal Hospitals is
just around the corner. Packs (teams) are being

formed and people are getting their walking shoes ready
for the Humane Society of Broward County’s largest
fundraiser of the year. The event takes place on Saturday,
March 18, 2017 at Huizenga Plaza in Downtown Fort
Lauderdale, with registration opening at 8 a.m. and the
walk starting at 10 a.m. The 1.25 mile walk through
beautiful Fort Lauderdale attracts thousands of animal lovers
each year. You can register now, by visiting
www.walk4theanimals.com and start collecting donations.

Walk day is a celebration of months of fundraising with
proceeds going to the animals the HSBC cares for and the
programs and services offered. Last year enthusiastic
walkers raised over $525,000 for the animals and the goal
is even higher this year.

Event Chairs Carey Morgan and Deanna Kubinski, both of
Fort Lauderdale, are thrilled to be back along Jacey Birch
of WPLG Local 10 News and U-Turn Laverne from 99.9
Kiss Country Radio. There will be a bounce house and face
painting for the younger crowd. Dogs can receive the star
treatment with red carpet photos courtesy of Little’s
Photography and a dip in the doggie pools all while their
owners enjoy free pancakes from IHOP, and live
entertainment. Participants can also visit sponsor booths

and pick up fun items from VCA Animal Hospitals, Purina,
Pet Supermarket, BB&T, PETCO, Coconut Creek Subaru and
many more!

Join us in fundraising so we can continue helping dogs like
Mia. Be a part of the 2017 Walk for the Animals and raise
$2,500 or more for the chance to have your dog as our
2018 Cover Dog.

For information about registering, forming a “Pack” or
team, or if your business is interested in being a sponsor,
contact Linda Sanders at 954-266-6817 or
info@walk4theanimals.com. You don’t need to have a pet
to join in the fun. The more money you raise the more
goodies you earn.

The Humane Society of Broward County is a private non-
profit organization made possible by the generous
donations of animal enthusiasts like you. The shelter is not
affiliated with any other organization and receives no
funding from state or any national group. To learn more
