RVCA President’s Message
appy New Year to everyone in Rio Vista! We have much to look forward to
Hin 2018 as this is such an exciting time in Fort Lauderdale.
We will be electing a new Mayor and a new District 4 City Commissioner. There
have been a number of forums and debates, and it has been interesting to hear what
each candidate has to say and learn about their platform. If you haven't already
voted by mail, please go and vote on March 13 at your designated voting place.
A tip of the hat to our own Rio Vista neighbor, Romney Rogers, for his many years of
dedicated service as a City Commissioner. And thanks for being such a good sport,
putting on that red suit every December and jumping out of a fire engine.
Mark your calendars as our annual Rio Vista Campout will take place on Saturday,
February 10, 2018 at Virginia Young Park. This is a great neighborhood tradition
and so much fun for kids and parents. We can pitch our tents around the perimeter
starting at 10am, and then the fun starts at 4pm with a golf cart parade.
Nancy Messing Brand We will line up on the north side of the park. Prizes will be awarded to the best
Vice President, RVCA decorated carts, so get creative. The grille starts up at 5:00, and then we will show
movies under the stars. Then it’s “all quiet at the campground” by 10:00 pm sharp.
President (on leave) Finally, our December Rio Vista Holiday Party was so much fun and we were
