President’s Message
e wish we could say the Coronavirus was nothing but a bad April Fool's joke,
Wbut the nasty virus has upended many of our plans for the moment.
In this issue, we were to report on the special meetings scheduled with Broward
County Sheriff Tony, 17th Street Mobility Working Group, South Ocean Bridge
Replacement, HBPHOA's Restoration of the Covenants Committee, as well as the
newly formed committees addressing Sylvan Lake Anchoring and neighborhood Tree
and Landscape, both ready to launch. All of those committees’ missions and issues
continue and, in lieu of physically meeting, will avail themselves of technology and
host ZOOM meetings to carry on.
We were excited to share neighbors’ photos from the HBHPHOA and Harbor Beach
Surf Club Sunday Fun-Day Beach BBQ scheduled for March 22. Sadly, the event was
also a casualty of the Coronavirus. A little rain was worrisome; the pandemic forced
a total washout. As soon as the CDC tells us it is safe to get together again, we will
reschedule it and get the word out.
The CDC tells us that the COVID-19 virus is susceptible to heat. Mother Nature
Annette Ross continues to bless us with an abundance of warm sunshine and beautiful weather, so
President
get outside. Take a walk or walk the dog and be sure to greet your neighbors from
six (6) feet away.
Harbor Beach Property
Homeowners Association, Inc. In closing, we wish to thank Mayor Dean Trantalis and our own Commissioner Ben
1322 SE 17th Street Sorensen for taking what was, at the time, the unpopular action in ordering our citizens
Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316
954-462-6428d to socially isolate and shut unessential businesses down. Their decisive and early action
954-401-2007c very likely slowed the spread of the virus and protected the health and lives and of us

all. We are very grateful and will continue to get the city's updates out to our residents.
A few last words to our friends and neighbors during this difficult time we find ourselves in.
