RVCA President’s Message
eading into 2022 I want to start by thanking my fellow Board Members for
their continued volunteer efforts to benefit our neighborhood. More specifically,
Hthanks to Mark Snead and Lori Sterling. Mark- thanks for the many years of
wearing the hats of both Vice President and Treasurer. Lori- thanks for agreeing to be
RVCA’s 2022 Vice President and giving Mark a break.
An Informed Approach
In reflecting on matters affecting Rio Vista and our surrounding area in the past year,
the value and impact of neighbors who are informed on local matters has been notable.
The current RVCA Board has made a commitment to assist in making sure residents
know where to go for information. To that end, this edition of RVCA’s official print
magazine will include articles on the upcoming Tarpon River Dredging update, and a
message from the Mayor covering the Broward Commuter Rail project. The DDA has
released some images of what our Downtown will look like in 2030 with a commuter
rail bridge running from just south of Hardy Park to south of Sunrise Boulevard, please
Christina Currie, Esq. review them in the Mayor’s Message. As a reminder, in October of 2021 the RVCA
President
issued a position in favor of a tunnel as the preferred option for the New River crossing
should this project move forward.
