The long-term rotation provides time for the artist to
completely open, manage and close a solo show,
providing invaluable business experience without major
capital or losing fees traditionally shared with retail
gallery owners or managers. Working in a LOCA show,
the artist keeps 100% of their sales and have complete
access to their own customers after the show for referrals,
        commissions and other opportunities.

The mission is to showcase working artists, who are
already giving back to their communities, and help make
their passion for the arts a sustainable business. Previous
shows have included a contrast of work by FLorida artists
including environmental photography by veteran artists
Phoenix and Jeremiah Jenner to modern expressionist
and contemporary mixed-media canvas and works on
paper by Alex Yost, Yvette Michelle, Liora Davis and
        Diane Delorey.
“I have no hard selection criteria for our shows,” says
Tanner. “Local artists, actively working and giving back
to their community; adding value to the whole of
Broward’s cultural arts environment. If I think an artist
isn’t for us or would be better served somewhere else, I
provide resources and leads for those artists as well. It
        doesn’t matter what my opinion of the art is for my sake;
I select based on what I think this artist can contribute to
the arts community as a whole,” says Tanner.
Every time an artist shows exhibit’s work to a new
audience, they create value for their past, current and
future work. The opportunity to present on prestigious Las
Olas Boulevard, an address already known for luxury
fine arts, antiques and contemporary art galleries, can
elevate a local artist’s reputation and provide critical
exposure to collectors, curators and other patrons.

Kicking off June 28th, the ninth show for the organization
LOCA presents celebrated FATVillage based artist Harriet
Silverstein, featuring colorful, abstract still life using oil,
watercolor and pastel on paper and canvas. Like many
of LOCA’s previously exhibited artists, Silverstein is a
museum caliber artist with a long resume boasting a fine
arts education, group exhibitions, juried shows,
        educational outreach and international awards.
